Our Wedding

Chrissy and Nathan’s story started without much notice. They shared a few classes, the same group of friends, and spent plenty of lunches talking in the library. Over time, they realized they had more in common than they expected, and being around each other became easy and familiar. They laughed their way through each school year, mostly seeing each other in hallways and classrooms, without ever really spending time together outside of school. By senior year, as graduation approached, it became clear that their connection had quietly grown into something more. Ending that daily presence felt like something worth paying attention to. That realization carried into the summer after graduation. While Nathan spent much of the summer in New York City, they stayed in touch through long phone calls, text messages, and frequent check-ins. As they spent more time actually getting to know each other, the shift from friendship to something more happened naturally, without a clear starting point or a specific date to mark. As college began, life got busier—but it also got bigger. Chrissy and Nathan learned early on that they loved exploring together, whether that meant long weekend trips, trying new food, wandering through museums near and far, or taking the long way home just to see where it led. No matter the destination, there was usually a detour involved to hunt down a thrift store along the way. Some of their favorite memories come from summers spent working and traveling. Two of these summers were spent in Westhampton, New York, working at a fish market on the water, where long days ended with sunset car rides home. Another summer found them back on the water in Wildwood, working at a tiny seafood shack and catching up during lunch breaks over tacos on the bay. Along the way, they met people who became like family, found themselves in plenty of bizarre and laughable situations, and learned a lot about themselves and each other in the process. They took trips with each other’s families, settled into routines, and figured out how to grow together without growing tired of one another. Somehow, even after all that time, that part never changed, and to this day, it still holds true. Now they live in a small apartment in Manayunk, Philadelphia, with a kitten named Pinto. Life looks a little different these days, but it’s built on the same things that always worked: time together, shared routines, and a lot of laughter. Nathan works in finance, and Chrissy is beginning her career as a school counselor, each moving forward in their own direction while continuing to build a life side by side.
